ARTICLES OF FAITH:
Harmony Primitive Baptist Church was first constituted on September 27, 1837. These were the articles of faith ratified on that date and are still upheld and believed today by our church (reference verses have been added since that time).
Section 1: We believe that there are three that bare record in Heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

Section 2: We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the word of God and the only and infallible rule of faith and practice to Jews and Gentiles. 2 Timothy 3:14-17, 2 Peter 1:21

Section 3: We believe that God created Adam capable to serve and constantly enjoy Him but he by transgression fell and corrupted himself and all his posterity in such a manner as to forfeit all right and title to God's favor and are of ourselves irrecoverable. Romans 5:12-21, Ephesians 2:1-3

Section 4: We believe in election that is that all that are saved were chosen of God in Christ before the foundation of the world that they should be holy and without blame before him in love and whom Christ also purchased with his own blood. Ephesians 1:3-12, Romans 8:28-33, Romans 9:11-16

Section 5: We believe that the justification of God's people wholly consists in the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:21-26, Romans 5:8-10, Romans 5:19-21, Romans 8:29-33, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Titus 3:3-7, Isaiah 61:10-11
Section 6: We believe that regeneration and sanctification is of the irresistible power of God working in the heart. John 6:37

Section 7: We believe that the preaching of the Gospel was ordained of God for both the manifestation of his glory and for the satisfaction of his people and is the reason in the gathering of them into his fold and that God has so ordered that they who preach the Gospel should live of the Gospel and that it is our duty according to our several/ability to administer to their support. 2 Timothy 1:10, 1 Corinthians 1:17-18, 1 Corinthians 9:13-14, 1 Thessalonians 1:5, Romans 1:16-17, Isaiah 40:1-2, Isaiah 52:7, Acts 8:5, Acts 9:20
Section 8: We believe that all those who are favored with these graces will most certainly and finally persevere in grace to Eternal Glory. John 10:27-30, John 6:37-39, Romans 8:38-39

Section 9: We believe that there will be a resurrection both of the just and the unjust, that the righteous shall enter into Eternal Glory while the wicked shall suffer the vengeance of Eternal fire. Acts 24:15

Section 10: We believe that baptism is an ordinance of the New Testament initiated by Jesus Christ himself and that it cannot be administered but by immersion and that believers and believers only are the proper subjects of this Divine Ordinance or institution. Section 11: We believe that the Lord's Supper ought to be administered and received in Christ's Church with all other Gospel Doctrine and Ordinances we profess to believe and defend. Luke 22:14-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
